Question

Drawing inside a group...vanishes

When I create a new group (Command+G) and then draw inside it, the drawing disappears as soon as I lift my pen. If I exit the group the drawing will appear in a group on the timeline. I'm able to re-enter the group and draw normally but this is severely inturrupting my work flow.

This is an intermittent issue, but I'd say it happens more than 50% of the time I create a new group.

I've never had this issue in any previous version.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Hi mate,

Sounds quite bug-like.

If you manage to identify the circumstances and make it reproducible, I'd suggest you file a bug report.

I don't know what you are working on, but as a general advice I would say: using groups in animation is considered bad practice and should be avoided. To organise your artwork, use alretnatives like Drawing Objects, Layers and Symbols.

Thanks. I'll try submitting a bug report.

I've also been having some major lag in drawing with this version, so I may just go back to using 2019 to save the headaches.

I appreciate your reply. I promise you I am not using groups to animate (I have been on the recieving end of file like that and had to make fixes. Simply aweful)
