I thought I remembered a setting in the Flash Authoring tool that would slow down loading of external assets for testing progress indicators, etc. Is there such thing? Thanks

You can also use Charles Web Proxy for throttling. I little more complicated, but will work with any browser.

To use it in the real environment, go get a free proxy called Sloppy, which throttles your bandwidth... Firefox has a plugin that does the same thing - if you want to view it as a real web user would view it at any bandwidth speed :)

Firefox AddOn Bandwidth Throttler: http://www.uselessapplications.com/en/Application/FirefoxThrottle.aspx
Sloppy Proxy: http://www.dallaway.com/sloppy/

Both free :)

Actually, I found it, its in View menu, once your test movie window is up. Not in the View menu in the authoring environment.
