Eraser Tool and Brush Tool not working

Everytime I try to erase, it erases but the line I erased just connects again. And the brush everytime I draw on another line with the brush it just erases a little bit. Pls help

Legend

This is normal behaviour for rounded caps.

Change the cap setting or convert lines to fills.
