Question

Export via Video/Media to mp4 doesn't work with AS 3

Hi All,

the timeline in my .fla got 1 frame with 2 layers:

- one keeps a white rectangle form as background plus a code: import Main;

- above this layer a mask layer, masking the white form and code layer.

plus my ActionScript Main.as included in the .fla that adds and removes Movieclips from the library

SWF works fine.

Now I export via Video/Media choosing 'Time', which worked with Flash and AS3 before.

In Animate, the result is my masked white background without any action.

What do I miss in the procedure with Animate?

Thanks for your help

Bettina

Hi.

This feature still works. It's totally possible to export videos from FLAs that use AS3.

I just exported a video from a FLA in which some particles are generated at runtime using ActionScript 3 and it just worked.

And my document has only one frame.

Settings that I used:

Thank you, but did you include your AS3 from an outside source (a.i. Main.as) or did you put the code in the timeline?

It works in both cases: when the code is in the timeline and when it comes from an external .as file.

no actionscript is going to work in video.

Really?

That's new to me, must be a new restriction. Sad to hear that.

Look here:

The original computer animation was a Flash project from 2016 completely performed by ActionScript 3, exported to mp4.

Maybe I included the ActionScript code directly in the timeline, and didn't call an .as from outside, I have to check with my old projects.

i'll try that.

Try extending the frames on the main timeline to the desired duration, this is what determines the length of the video, and last time I checked, works with actionscript as well.
