external camera with Adobe Animate

Is there a way to tether my DSLR camera with Adobe animate for stop motion purposes?

I would like to use the onion skin feature on Animate while I capture my images.

Not directly. You could tether using another application and then import a video or image sequence to manipulate within Animate later.
