Question

Eye Dropper tool not working properly in Animate CC.

Hi - I recently upgraded from CS6 to CC. The Eye Dropper tool doesn't seem to recognise any colour on screen. It's a total nightmare and really slows down my workflow.

I've searched and seen some similar problems, where people have suggested it could be do do with the size/type/resolution/colour profile of an external monitor, but the same thing happens when I just use the Macbook monitor.

The curious thing about this issue is that the eye dropper will correctly recognise a colour if you hover over the swatches - so it can work when it wants to, which proves to me that it isn't an issue with the screen. As soon as you move the cursor over anywhere else it seems unable to correctly pick the colour that is beneath it. Which isn't much use when you want to pick a colour that doesn't already exist within the swatches palette.

Any one got any ideas?

I would suggest doing the following first and letting us know if it helped.

Recreate preferences: Re-create preferences

Do a clean install: Unistall Adobe Animate using the CC cleaner Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems  and then reinstall the software.

Thanks,

Hi Preran,

Thanks for the reply. I've tried those suggestions and the problem still persists.

Thanks,
