Flash CS6 ActionScript 2 Debugger Inactive

Hi,

I was just starting a new flash project and after running it as a swf test a couple times, my debugger began to pop up. It only says "debugger is inactive" and cannot be interacted with. Some of my scripting does not work as well, like buttons, which I am guessing is part of the debugger problem (for example, I tried to make an animation that stops at a certain frame, instead, the stop command stops the entire animation. This has never happened before.) . I've looked everywhere and can't find a solution to this. I really need to get this fixed, any suggestions?
