Flash Pro CS6 crashes from Command-C or Edit > Copy

Hello, my Flash Professional CS6 keeps crashing when I use the Copy command!  It crashes when I copy a vector or shape.  If I restart the program, I can paste what I had copied that caused the crash, but it crashes again next time I use Copy.  It doesn't always crash, and sometimes I can copy many times in a row, but it usually crashes the first time I Copy, each time I start Flash.  It wont crash if what I'm copying is text.  I'm on Mac Sierra, and this does not happen if I start the computer in safe mode.  I've tried reinstalling Flash and cleaning out any purgeable memory including caches and PRAM and stuff.  The problem is easily repeatable.  Any advice would be awesome please, thanks for reading!

I'll differ to what John said! I'm already running High Sierra, and CS6 continues to work ok.

You could try reseting preferences, hold down Shift+Command+Option as you open CS6. If you have a Creative Cloud subscription you could reinstall CS6. Make sure your CS6 is up to date:

Adobe - Adobe Flash - Downloads

If you have your serial number you could do a new install from this page:

Download Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications

Here's the direct link to the old Java runtime John mentioned, though usually old programs don't even run if this is needed and is missing:

Download Java for OS X 2015-001

Does the crash happen when you copy anything at all? If it's just certain things, can you post an example somewhere for me to try in CS6, and also in Animate?

Thank you very much.  I "solved" it, but this might come back to bite me later: Go to ~/Library/Caches/ and find the Adobe folder.  Delete all the Adobe folder's contents.  (Now the problem is fixed next time I open flash, but not two times in a row)  Last, set the permissions for the Adobe folder to Read Only for my account.  This stops the crashes.

If this causes further problems, then I'll try to track down the specific problematic files within ~/Library/Caches/Adobe and only make them empty and read-only.

That seems odd. That folder is read/write for me, and No Access for everyone. Also, neither Animate or Flash Pro seem to be using that folder.

Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2301916 includes a link to install the old Java runtime that is required
