Font is filling in after exporting to HTML

I keep running into this issue with this Merriweather Sans font. 

Whenever I export it out to HTML, it looks like this. In the native document, I have it set to static. 
I attempted to troubleshoot and tried to break up the font to outline it, it fills in like this, too. 

Any idea what I'm doing wrong here? Or is it just the font?
