Frame picker does not want to let me pick frames

When Frame picker is opened from Window, the functions are greyed out and "no graphic symbol selected". The symbol I first tried to open wasn't graphic, so I changed it to a graphic symbols by  right clicking on the symbol and clicking properties and then editing.

Hi, yes the frame picker only works with graphic symbols. Movieclips have a timeline that plays independently from the main stage so you can't pick frames and control the playback in the same way you do with graphics.
