Function shortcuts not working

for some reason all my other shortcuts are working but for sine reason my function commands aren't working. I'm new to the program and am learning by watching tutorials so it's very confusing when people are constantly telling me to use shortcuts that I don't know what they do bc they won't work for me. Help!
