Just stumbled onto adobe animate recently.

Two months ago hadn't known it existed.

Do you guys see Adobe Animate being the premiere tool like Flash had been years ago?

If you've ever heard of Flash animations, then yes, you knew it existed.

To clarify, Adobe re-branded Flash to Animate. So if you want to learn the program, tutorials for Adobe Flash are also valid.

That's good to hear.

What would you recommend would be a good resource for getting up to speed for scripting for animate? Just a basic java course?

Animate is a new name for Flash Professional, so most of the resources for learning Flash Pro would still be of some use.

These days there is more demand for creating HTML5 projects, which Animate can do, but then it's using JavaScript. The normal language for Animate would be ActinoScript 3. It's a lot more like Java than JavaScript is, even if the name is similar.

Joseph may well reply again, and he has done training videos for Animate he can tell you about.
