Graphic Symbol not animating in Timeline

Hi everyone,

1st time posting here. I'm having trouble with a symbol. It is NOT a movie clip. I made it as a graphic for sure. It animates fine in it's own symbol timline and even in the little preview in the Library tab on the right. But when I add it to the main timeline it does nothing. It does no animte in the Test Movie function or on export. I've tried deleting and redoing from scratch... same behavior. I'm no expert on Animate by any means and am just stumped. The last thing I want to do is animate frame-by-frame on the main timeline. ugh.

with a graphic symbol you need to add parent timeline frames after the keyframe that contains your graphic.

ie, if the graphic has 20 frames on its timeline to show its animation and you put that graphic on a parent timeline that has one frame, no graphic animation will show. if the parent timeline has 10 frames after the keyframe that contains the graphic, 1/2 the graphic's animation will show. the parent timeline needs 20 frames after the first frame that contains the graphic to show the graphic's full animation.
