Hardcoding URL to an SWF using ActionScript 3

Previously I've been using code snippets ('ActionScript3 > Actions > Click to go to Web Page') to direct the click to a particular website. However our client would like to have the flexibility to allow their media company to change the clickTag URL to all their ads at any time rather than coming back to me every time.

How do I set up the swf/actionscript file so the media company can add their own URL/ClickTag to the swf? I'm using Flash CC 2014, ActionScript3

PS: please use really (really) basic language as I'm just a dumb designer not a code guy

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after you create the banner ad, IF using DoubleClick Studio to traffic the ad there will be a setting that allows you to specify where you want the banner ad to click thru too.

I havent used other media serving companies before but I would imagine they are nearly the same. This way allows the client or whomever is in control of the DoubleClick account the ease of changing the URL destination whenever they want.

    Correct, but you still need to implement the "Doubleclick Exit" component to the stage, unless you are working with the templates provided. and yeh IF doubleclick ads ;-)
