[HELP] How do you use moving symbols?

I made a symbol fire symbol with 3 frames. However, when I drag the symbol onto the timeline it does not move. What do you do?

This should help you understand symbols.

what kind of symbol?

if it's a button, it won't change frames unless it detects mouse events.

if it's a movieclip, it will change frames (unless there's actionscript stopping it).

if it's a graphic, it will change frames IF there enough (3 in your situation) frames on the parent timeline.

then it will play when testing (but not in the ide). if you want it to change in the ide, use a graphic symbol
