Help with animation shape tween

Hi all,

I am trying to replicate this gif here, and then I want to modify it by adding some to it at the end. I am trying shape tween with pen tool to try and achieve this but I am having issues during some of the animations, particularly when trying to animate the signal reflection when it splits into two.

Source to replicate and my project attached. Please advise what I may be doing wrong.
