Hover-over button not working in Google Chrome on published JavaScript/HTML file

Hello,

I created a file with imported Adobe Illustrator vector background artwork in one layer. In another layer, I created a button symbol out of an Illustrator graphic and made a hover-over effect where text pops up as you hover-over. It all works when I test it (Ctrl + Enter) on my browser. But when I publish it and test that file in Google Chrome, the hover-over buttons do not work. It works in Edge and Explorer, however.

I also have a small looping animation as part of the background as a movie clip in the main timeline (some fans spinning). This works in Chrome.

In the publishing settings I combined the JavaScript with html into one file and have hosted libraries checked. I am not using any Actionscript. I'm using the latest version of Animate CC on a PC version with Windows 10. Have you heard of this issue on Chrome browsers and know of a fix?

Thank you.

This question is asked all the time. It's not working because you're running it from your local file system instead of a server.

Most browsers don't like my interactive HTML5

Obviously the person who asked the question did not know that otherwise they would not have asked!

Maybe have a post about this be pinned to the top above all the threads? I know it is possible since I had a post pinned in the Edge Animate forum.

or may be we should compile some of the most asked questions and pin a post about it with links.
