How can you shape tween letters

I am working on a project that needs to shape tween the letters 'be' into the letter 'a'. The only instructions I can find in the Animate tutorials has a box become a circle. I have converted the letters into symbols but it doesn't work. I have tried the process with the letters un'symbolized'. The 'Shape Tween' option is not available to me in either instance.  Help!

    Hi Christine,

You need to break apart those letters down to raw vector and only then you can shape tween them.

Shape tweens only work on shapes.

How well that may work though is a another story. With the help of some shape hints and some clever layering you may be able to get a satisfactory morph.

Thank you both. The problem was that the instructions on the Adobe website didn't tell you to break the items apart. The example they were using didn't need that. It all worked after I broke the letters apart. Thanks!

Try this tutorial on shape hint. It will make the shape morphing work better. https://youtu.be/aZIdiLs9Xzs
