How do I customize the toolbar in Adobe Animate CC 2018?

I have looked everywhere for this question and I've found no answer. I want to modify it to replace something with an extension (The Pixel Brush extension, found on newgrounds) yet nobody has answered this question.

Before you answer:

- I have tried google searching, only came up for ways to do it with photoshop.

- I have looked almost everywhere.

I need it for animations, so please, if you know this, answer it.

Hi mate,

1. Close Animate.

2. Find your config folder:

Win

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Adobe\Animate CC\YourVersion\YourLocale\Configuration

(Check 'show hidden objects' in folder view if AppData is not visible)

Mac

HD\Users\YourUserName\Library\Application\Support\Adobe\Animate\CC\YourVersion\YourLocale\Configuration

3. In config find the folder called Tools.

In it find the file called toolConfig.xml

Make a backup of it before you modify.

4. Open it in a plain text editor and do whatever changes you need to do.

(The file is quite simple and you will figure out how to shuffle things around very easily.)

5. Save toolConfig.xml

6. Open Animate and you will see your changes.

If not happy, close Animate and repeat.

Hope this helps!

ps. Since you're into extensions, come have a look at our work if you're unfamiliar with it.

Hi! There is no toolConfig.xml so basically I can do nothing from step 3 onwards, is this a problem?

Make sure you are in config in your profile and make sure you see the hidden / system / protected files.

There is always toolConfig.xml

Post a screen grab of your Tools folder with the full path visible
