How do you implement swipe left and right

Hi,

I have a Js/Canvas project, i am setting it up to be responsive but since the layout was thought for a large screen I need to let users move through the different frames using gestures when they are watching the content on their phones. Should I just place a left and right buttons to move or is the swipe effect easy to implement.
