How do you make individual layer's temporarily invisible in Animate CC?

There's an "eye" icon that in other CC software that can make any layer disappear, but when I click the eye in Animate ALL of the layers (except for the background) disappear. I'm sure there must be a simple way to make the layers independent of each other in this regard, but I don't know what it is.

The eye icon atop all the layers when clicked, will toggle visibility on/off for all layers.

For individual layer visibility click on the small black dot below the icon but to the right of that specific layer's name to toggle on/off.
