How do you stabilize an armature so that the torso stays still?

I'm trying to make this armature stable so that the torso stays still, but I don't know how. Whenever I try moving the arms, the entire body moves along with it, as seen below.

I got it installed. Now how do you replace the armature with an SMR?


Remove the armature, distribute your symbols to layers and rig using the FreeStyle Rigging tool.

Spend some time to get familiar with SMR.

Just abandon that 'armature' and go SMR. You will never look back.

    I'm unable to install those power tools due to some missing files.

    Follow the instructions closely. If you still have difficulty, try manual installation after a config folder clean up.
