how to add different videos with different layer?

Hi im a newbie here. I have a project (movie warehouse) where in homepage it shows movie recommendation based on its category/genre, when you click the movie it direct you to the movie trailer. So im planning to put only one movie trailer each category but the problem is when i duplicate the layer that's already finished id like to replace the trailer with another video but it seems didnt work, is there any tips to solve my problem? thankyou:)

it's not clear what you're doing nor how you're doing it nor is it clear what you're trying to do. eg,

the movie recommendations that get clicked are actually animate movieclips (and not videos), correct?

when they're clicked, you use code or do you navigate to another part of your timeline to display a trailer?

that trailer is displayed using a video component or the trailer is embedded in a layer (that you want to duplicate)?
