How to change virtual camera properties

Question

I don't like the new v-cam in adobe animate, and would prefer the older version where it appeared as a small box that you could control, rather than the whole stage. Can anyone help me change it?

I agree, the built-in v-cam is not great for most of us. Fortunately for both of us, there is a solution.

Take a look at this. Shuriken255 created a custom-made v-cam for AS2 and AS3. The tutorial video is here and the download to the folders are in the description. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2-hy3TizV0

I will point out that you have to turn off Advanced Layers in the settings of Adobe Animate in order for this v-cam to work. This means losing the ability to use layer filters on graphic symbols or the main timeline. To still use filters, convert your effect into a movie clip symbol instead and you can use filters inside the movie clip.

I found that out the hard way so I thought I should point that out. But I hope this will satisfy your need for a good v-cam!
