How to pause a symbol in the middle of an animation?

Probably a very novice question but there's surprisingly no other information about this anywhere else. I currently have a 6s animation where a symbol is supposed to come onto the stage and stay in 1 spot until the video ends. How exactly do you do this? I found a single tutorial on how to do this on YouTube but it doesn't seem to work for me.
