How to place layers with animation in place to another doc (Animate CC)?

I can not place layers with animation added to another doc and select 'paste in place' - it lands outside the stage - how to fix it easily, without redoing everything?

It's all because I did my animation as a movie clip, and only then learned it can not be exported as an animated gif - which would work only if layers were directly in the scene... So I have to copy all the layers from the movie clip and paste them in the scene – it'll be a lot of work to move every frame in the correct place if I do it manually! Can't find the option 'paste in place' for layers, or adjusting pasting properties... Please help!

Okay,

Copy Frames / Paste Frames works across multiple frames and layers. Just click + drag across your range of frames and layers. In the highlighted area, right-click over it and select Copy Frames. Go to your new document, right click over a blank keyframe in a new layer and select Paste Frames.

Avoid Copy / Paste in Place - it is not an option with frames themselves. Copy /Paste commands only work with the actual content on the stage in those layers. Not the layers themselves.

Looks like you "solved" it but you really only corrected what could have been avoided.

There's a difference between COPY/PASTE and COPY FRAMES/PASTE FRAMES in Animate CC.
When you use copy/paste or in your case copy/paste in place between 2 documents, the results may not be what you expect due to difference between the docs (stage size or if you copied from inside a symbol, etc).

When you use Copy Frames / Paste Frames, the result is your assets getting pasted in to the same location/position.

The "solution" you posted was to edit multiple frames AFTER they were pasted in the wrong place from not using copy frames/paste frames.

    Paste in place wasn't available for layers, hence I had to work around it what a headache.

    PS the new document size was exactly the same as the old one...

    Hi.

    - Select all layers you want;

    - Press Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + C (Copy Frames) OR right-click and select Copy Layers;

    - Go to the timeline you want to add the layers and press Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + V (Paste Frames) OR right-click and select Paste Layers;

    I'm suggesting both methods (copy/paste frames and copy/paste layers) because the result can vary depending on how your objects/layers/frames are structured.

    Please notice that the copy/paste frames approach only works if all the layers don't have "null" frames like in the picture below.

    Oh, if this was that easy! As I wrote earlier – pasted layers land in a different location than in the original document - not centered, but close to the top left corner - that's the whole issue I'm having. It seems there's no option to 'paste in place', matching exactly what I have in the original doc.

    Hi.

    Did you try the copy/paste frames approach?

    The results are different.

    Also notice that you mentioned "paste in place", but this applies to objects instances not to layers or frames.
