how to play videofiles in flash

Hi everyone!

I'm a unexperienced flash user and I have I very basic question (I think..)..

How can I play a video file on a webpage without getting a huge swf file size?
Probably the best way is to load movieclips or swf containing the videofile into the original swf file, but I also needed to load the videofile into a specific area of the project..I've tried many different ways to do that but I still can't manage to solve my problem.=/

Can anyone help me with this?

Many thanks!!

Maurício

You can use Flash's video file format - FLV. There are player components you
can use, or you can roll your own player using the NetStream and
NetConnection classes (AS2). There are plenty of tutorials on playing FLV
files - just Google 'flv tutorial'
