Question

How to programmatically export the scene to GIF with ActionScript 3

I want to export the scene to GIF on a button click.

I wasn't able to find a relevant Class that can do so.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I find I get a cleaner gif If I export the animation in pngs and then load the pngs in photoshop and export the gif from photoshop.

@Nick Gioiathanks for confirming that!

I had actually decided to take this route as well.

Although, instead of using Photoshop, I am writing a script to combine the PNG sequence into a GIF.

for saving where?  a mobile app?  a computer file system?  something else?

@kgladthank you for the reply.

I'm imagining it as a desktop app, a meme generator, where the user is able to combine multiple animated Graphic symbols to create a scene.

Once ready, the user should be able to click an "export" button to export the scene as an animated GIF.
