HTML5 Canvas - Drop Shadow problem on movieclip

I have applied a drop shadow filter to a movieclip with a white fill.

The problem is that the shadow shows through the white background. Not only that, but dynamic text in the movieclip also inherits that drop shadow.

that's not a white fill. double check your settings.

and yes, everything in that movieclip is going to have the movieclip filters applied.
