Question

I added music to my finished 13 second animation but nothing comes through on the finished work

Everything works fine in Animate but when I publish it there is no music. When I publish as a .swf the sound is there. When I put it out as a .mp4 it doesn’t play the sound.

I want it to be an .mp4. How do I do that?

Hi! kglad's diagnosis is spot on — this is the sound Sync setting. An Event-synced sound plays fine inside Animate and in a SWF, but an exported video only picks up Stream-synced sound from the timeline, which is why your MP4 comes out silent.

To fix it: in the Timeline, click the keyframe that holds your music, then open Window > Properties. In the Sound section of the Properties panel, change Sync from Event to Stream. Then export again via File > Export > Export Video — the music should be in the MP4.

Adobe documents the Sync options (Event / Start / Stop / Stream) here: https://helpx.adobe.com/animate/desktop/multimedia-and-video/using-sounds.html

Let me know if the MP4 has sound now!

every fla you create has to start as a project of some type,  assuming an as3 project, click the sounds first keyframe in your timeline.  take a screenshot of the properties panel and paste it into a reply here.

Where would I find the ‘sound set to stream, not event’
