I can't import images

I can't seem to import any images onto the Animate stage!!

Haven't gone any further than File > Import > Import to Stage.

The .ai document wouldn't open. (neither would any other image, eg jpg)

Tried saving it in different places (iCloud, external hard drive and desktop) but it didn't make any difference.

I'm quite stuck now, so any advice very welcome!!

In the import dialog is an Options button. Look at what it's set too. All Openable Formats would be the best option.

I've seen that option get stuck on Ogg Vorbis before.

You can always just drag files onto the stage as well to avoid that michievous options button.

I've got stuck on Ogg Vorbis too, nothing I can do in Import options will get rid of it.

I'll try closing the program and opening it up again.

. . . but now it won't open PSDs.
What a very strange program!
Better close it and open again and try and select 'All Files' in the Import Options.
