I get an error message when opening an .FLA and Winrar does not help

I have some old fla files from 2007 that I want to open in Animate. When I try, I just get an error message. The only help I found was to try Winrar to repair the file. I followed the instructions, but that made no difference. Any other ideas? Thanks
