I have recently been animating more and was told by a few elites that it is better to create a Character in Illustrator than in animate, he didint exactly list why but he seemed very strong about it. ive only mesed with it for about half an hour but it seems that it would be much much easier in animate. Am I missing somthing or is it just personal prefrence?

    Hi mate,

It really is counterproductive to do character work outside of Animate.

Ideally only painted backgrounds should be imported, because there are no raster tools in Animate.

Everything else should be created in Animate to avoid technical complications and for maximum efficiency.

Here are two articles on the subject, which hopefully will convince you against using other programs:

    Good luck!
