Importing Animate Image into Illustrator as a vector image

Hi. I believe Animate is a vector based drawing/animation program.

But when I try to export or import a file into Illustrator, it doesn't see it as a vector program. In fact, if I then try to vectorize the Animate jpeg, it image traces terribly.

How can I export an Animate file and then import it into Illustrator as a recognizable vector file. It seems like this should be easy as both are Adobe products. But I can only find tutorials that explain how to import Illustrator vector files into Animate, not vice versa. Is driving me crazy as I am not a fan of Illustrator, but my teacher is requiring that I use Illustrator for a particular project. Thanks very much for saving me from going nuts.

    Hi.

Recent versions of Animate can also export SVG files.

i think you'll need to use an older animate version and export an svg.
