Importing PSD compression issues

So, I've used Animate quite a bit, and I've imported PNGs and PSDs before, but I've recently gotten a new computer, and have been given the new version of Animate. I originally thought it was just a version issue, so I downloaded 19.2.1 because that's what I used to use, but I was still having the same issue.
I'm trying to put a PSD into my stage so I have all my character's pieces together, but it keeps converting to to a bitmap and crunching up the layers.
It comes out very compressed, and I can't seem to find an option for importing it regularly without this conversion effect.
Can anyone please help me?
