Importing psd, "wet paint" issue on layers.

This is a really annoying issue and really hard to try and describe. When I import my character, which is constructed (put together) into animate and select all parts and turn them into movie clips, all the layers below top layers take on the colour of the above layer on the edges,  kind of like touching wet paint and getting it on you, but its happening to the layers, anyone know why this is happening?

The only way I found to fix it, was to take apart so nothing is touching and import it and put together in animate.
