Inconsistent/unpredicable "Embedding OLE objects is unsupported. Use File->Import to import media."

Hi there, I've got a general question concerning the above warning/error that I sometimes receive.

"Embedding OLE objects is unsupported. Use File->Import to import media."

Quite often I'll run some code without issues, but at other times (with the exact piece of code, with the same assets, same environment) it'll pop up and results in random issues, such as a specific image not being added to a symbol I'm creating. It tends to creep up when doing quiet intense work.

Could anyone please shed light on it's meaning - again, apologies for being so vague, but that seems to be it's nature unless I'm told otherwise!

Thanks

Ant

I've seen this happen when a 3rd party software that runs in the background interferes with the clipboard and alters its content.

Try identifying the offender by closing other programs.

We have identified Open Office and Virtual Box as such, but can be many others, esp. clipboard managing applications.

Just for info, are you on Windows, and on an AD Domain?

Appreciate the response - and why it always seems such an inconsistent error.!
