Install Animate 2018 in Windows 11

A coworker of mine is attempting to install Animate 2018 on Windows 11, but keeps getting the error message "Update required. Your browser or operating system is no longer supported."

Anyone here encountered this and managed to fix it?

And yes, it has to be Animate 2018. The version of CreateJS used by the current version of Animate is incompatible with our libraries.

Correct answer kglad

the has already been resolved: install a compatible visuall c++ version (eg, 2013).

Animate CC 2018 isn't officially supported on Windows 11, and the error is usually caused by outdated Adobe activation/sign-in components. If possible, install it through the latest Creative Cloud app, or use a Windows 10 machine/VM for the most reliable setup.

Same troubles. Compatibility changes nor IE11 fixes did not work.

Anyone have animate 18 working on Win 11?

Hi.

I wonder if compatibility mode would work.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the solution, Clay.

JC

No need to wonder, it doesn't work.

It's not a compatibility issue, it's a missing software components issue.

Well, after most of a day of trying a whole lot of things, I think we've managed to figure it out.

First, install IE11. For some idiotic reason Adobe wrote the Animate installer to require IE11, which doesn't exist anymore as far as Microsoft's concerned.

Then install the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2013 (64-bit)

Finally, run the Animate 2018 installer. Should work now!

Do I have to put it in a specific folder?
