Invisible group glitch

you know whats great? expensive programs and whats even better expensive programs that don't work very well.

I'm glad you can group objects in animate cc, but when I enter the group to edit I can't see anything.

....and I know all you have to do to fix this is "just select anywhere to see them again." but it's not that simple.

If I wanted to transform anything in a group or just move it to the right a little bit, it turns everything invisible again.

now I'm posting this on adobe's forums in hope that this is a common easy fix, but from the multiple experiences I've had with it that doesn't sound like the case.
