Is it normal for Animate to take literally 15-20 minutes to save a file?

I have an 8MB .fla. Is that enormous or something? It auto-saves just fine, but when I hit "Save," sometimes it saves quickly and sometimes it creeeeeeps for a small eternity. Is it a known behavior? Is there something I should tick off in the Preferences? Thanks!
