I would like to know if there is an application that would covert AS 2.0 to AS 3.0 or if flash CS4 has a way of doing it?

I have heard a couple people mention having found some AS2 to AS3 conversion programs, though they all ended up here to get what hose utlities weren't capable of converting ironed out for them.  You might find such utilities searching Google for "Convert AS2 to AS3".  As far as I know CS4 has no such provision.

I don't believe it is possible to have anything sophisticated enough to be able to do a thorough job of converting AS2 code to AS3... I wish I could remember a good example of why I say that, but I can't.  There's just some coding scenarios where you have to be able to understand how the smaller parts realize the larger picture to understand how to recreate it with functionally different pieces... things are not directly convertible from AS2 to AS3 on a line for line basis.
