Question

Is there a way to make the selection tool parallel to the stage rotation?

I'm using the latest version of animate 2020 and when I rotate the stage (as you can see above), the square selection from the selection tool is STILL parallel to the normal unrotated stage. When I'm using Toon Boom, I have no issue with this, since the selection's X and Y lines are always parallel to the user.

Is there a button that can trigger this feature that I don't know of?

This is a great idea. I think you should definitely suggest it.

Orientation of selection bounding boxes is tied to the internal symbol coordinate system.

well... It'd be great if  they could add this feature though. Really. I've had countless scenes from my studio in which the character rig animation in question could've been sped up significantly just because of it.

Did you look at the link I posted?

Maybe you should send it to the person who produced the rigs?

Sounds like a good feature request though: https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html

I'm not sure that it's a good idea, Joseph! Fiddling with this might lead to disastrous effects.

They've already broken the guides when they introduced 'advanced' layers. Changing how bounding boxes work can lead to total lack of control.

There isn't any way to control this, no.
