Is there anyway to clean the line art in the "tweened" frame?

I cant seem to edit the frame

clean your drawings before tweening. that lessens the chance of causing a tween problem.

so the process will be like this: break apart -> clean -> convert symbol -> tween?

why can't you just double click that symbol, clean, return to parent and tween?
