Issues pasting sprites

I'm working on a Madness animation and I'm having issues pasting sprites from my sprite sheet. It was working as normal a few weeks ago letting me paste sprites normally from the sheet, but today it has been acting up pasting the background along with the sprite and enlarging it. I'm pretty new to animate and have a basic understanding of how the program works. But I just can't figure out what the issue is. Any pointers?
