Layers Are Shrinking and Disappearing

I made a motion tween of a character walking that worked perfectly fine. The next day I came to look at it and some layers were shrinking and disappearing. I tried importing to a new file and it's the same case. Is this a common bug, or is there a fix?

    it's common for users to see unexpected things in animate, and it's often difficult to find the problem cause.  

     

    copying and pasting assets from the problematic fla to a new fla and periodically testing is the quickest way to isolate and correct the issue.  often no correction is needed.  simply copying and pasting results in a new fla without the glitch(es).
