Library bitmaps named Image_0-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.png

I typically copy artwork from Illustrator, including linked images (png, jpg), and paste them to an Animate document.

I usually need to edit the imported images from Animate, via Photoshop (to resize them e.g.).

The trouble is the following:

  1. All file names are lost in the process (Illustrator to Animate).
    E.g. "MyConvenientName.png" becomes "<Image>_0".
  2. As soon as the file gets opened in Photoshop from Animate, the file name is changed to something like "Image_0-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1.png".

This doesn't happen if I edit the image name in the library, prior to opening it with Photoshop.

But all in all, it's a bit boring to have to rename all images.

try using import into animate (file>import>import to library after setting up an animate library folder for your imports) instead of copy and paste.

Importing rather than copy-pasting doesn't seem to make any difference.

Am I doing something wrong?

when i import an ai file (named bg0.ai on my file system) into animate i see this:
