Limited characters showing up and able to type

Hello, i have been having issues recently with my trial copy of Flash Professional, the issue is that when I try to input, or output text (i am making a quiz) only a few symbols are actually supported. So for example if I want to type in my name as "Jack" what is shown is "a" because the j,c,k characters just don't respond. Also when I want to output 'name + "your score is:"' all that is output is the incorrect name plus "ae re" so instead of saying "Jack Your score is:" it says "a ae re:".

I haven't played around with any of the settings, all i have used is text boxes and the action scripts.
