Lines and symbols appear pixelated instead of being smooth

Whenever I draw lines or place symbols they appear so pixeliated. This just started happening in my newer projects so I must have done something but I don't know what. I dislike the way it looks.

before anomaly (smooth lines)

after anomaly (bitmap, pixelated lines)

    Maybe you have accidentally changed your preview mode to Fast.

    Change it back to Anti-alias or Full:

      or don't use bitmaps, use vectors.

       

      you can convert bitmaps to vectors in animate by selecting a bitmap > modify > bitmap > trace bitmap.
