Lip-sync syncs with audio too late

I've recently ran into this problem where the auto-lip-sync will sync up with the audio its referring to around 6-7 frames too late. Its annoying that I have to nudge them over to the correct spot in the timeline but it has become very tedious. Is there a fix to where it'll sync to my audio correctly instead of too late?

I found that auto-lip-sync is never perfect and that it is just a starting point. I always find myself going back and moving them and adding and subtracting mouths.

Is this recent? Does it happen in previous versions? A screen recording would help a long way to better understand your issue.
