Making Animate timeline/frame numbers continuous in next scenes

Question

I have a problem with animate scenes; each scene starts from frame one.

How do I make my scenes/timeline continuous throughout the FLA document?

I want to be able to animate characters without having to duplicate the symbols throughout scenes.

I've read this on the Adobe website:

"Using scenes is similar to using several FLA files together to create a larger presentation. Each scene has a Timeline. Frames in the document are numbered consecutively through the scenes. For example, if a document contains two scenes with ten frames each, the frames in Scene 2 are numbered 11–20. The scenes in the document play back in the order they are listed in the Scene panel. When the playhead reaches the final frame of a scene, the playhead progresses to the next scene."

However,

Scene 2, for me does not start at frame 11, but at 1.

Is this a preference I can amend? Please help.

Hi mate,

Using scenes in animation is considered bad practice.

Ignore anything that the documentation says about scenes.

Do not use scenes.

Organise your shots in a 'horozontal' manner if you need with collapsible layer folders.

You can have hundreds of layers and thousands of frames in a single timeline.

Also: Work at least one level deep inside a graphic container, so that you can edit on the Main Timeline.

Ignore all tutorials and documentation that shows how you should set up all your layers on the Main Timeline.
